Waste Batteries
In the UK we generate 20,000 – 30,000 tonnes of waste ‘general
purpose’ batteries each year, with less than 1,000 tonnes being recycled.
Most batteries contain heavy metals which when disposed of incorrectly, the
casing can corrode and it leaks into the ground. Since July 2002,
regulation 9 of the Landfill (England and Wales) Regulations 2002 has made disposing of batteries
in Landfill Sites more regulated. This prevents any materials that are
corrosive or contain corrosive material being landfilled.
We offer a nationwide
collection and disposal service for your waste batteries.
